Police try to calm down the Thai American teen that attacked his mother before sending him to a hospital for treatment.

A teenager suffering mental problems tried to kill his mother in Pattaya.

Police were called to Hillside Village in East Pattaya Dec. 6 where the unidentified 44-year-old woman told police her American-Thai son, 19, put on gloves and tried to strangle her before punching her in the face.



She squeezed his testicles to force him to let her go.
The mother explained that her son has bipolar syndrome and suffers from depression and panic attacks. He normally is fine, but began having panic attacks last night and tried to stab himself.

The woman said she contacted a hospital this morning, but he attacked her before she could take him.
The man now has been hospitalized.
