Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has ordered relevant officials to speed up help for Thai victims in the casino fire in Cambodia’s Poipet town.
Anucha Burapachaisri, deputy secretary-general to the prime minister and acting government spokesman, said the prime minister instructed organizations concerned to quickly help the Thai people who were affected or trapped or went missing in relation to the fire which broke out at Grand Diamond City Hotel & Casino at 12.58am on Thursday Dec 29.
Injured Thai people were brought to treatment in Thailand while rescue workers were searching for missing people, Mr Anucha said.
Dr Opas Karnkawinpong, permanent secretary for public health, said the public health office of Sa Kaeo province which bordered Poipet was asked at 8.20am to treat 32 injured people comprising 13 red-coded patients, three yellow-coded patients and 16 green-coded ones. They were admitted to hospitals in Sa Kaeo. (TNA)
