Two Russian tourists reported that their hotel room safe was robbed of US$1,000.
Oleg Gipke said he checked in at the unnamed hotel on Soi Kasetsin Jan. 4 and put $5,000 in the safe.
Upon returning to his room Jan 8, he saw something “wrong” with the safe. Looking inside, he found $1,000 was missing.
He asked hotel management to see security camera footage, but they refused, telling him to contact police first.
Hours later, Natalina Chernova, staying at the same hotel, also reported that $4,000 of $16,000 she was carrying went missing from her room safe.
Police are investigating.
