Pickpockets robbed an Indian man of 44,000 baht in cash he was carrying around Pattaya Beach.
Mayur Manish Surve, 26, reported to police around 11 p.m. Feb. 10 that he and a friend had just finished shopping at a convenience store on Beach Road when they were approached by a group of Thais who began asking him about their purchases and prices.
Surve said the group distracted him and one of the individuals must have pickpocketed him. In the wallet was 44,000 baht cash.
Police pulled security-camera video from the store and are investigating.
