4.8-meter golden king cobra captured hiding in workshed

Volunteers from the Silatham Association of Ban Bueng hold onto to the unique 4.34 meter gold-colored king cobra which they captured from a workshed in Klong Kiew Subdistrict in Chonburi.

Snake rustlers captured a giant 4.34-meter King Cobra hiding in a Ban Bung work shed. Volunteers from the Silatham Association of Ban Bueng in Klong Kiew Subdistrict in Chonburi nabbed the 18-kilogram golden colored reptile after luring it out of a pile of galvanized steel sheets with a flashlight and hook lasso at the property in Ban Nong Takien, Ban Bueng District March 12.



Volunteer Paisan Phonnimitsub said another King Cobra weighing 14 kg. and measuring 4.2 meters was captured from a house just three kilometers away on Feb. 28. He said neighbors watching him catch the snake bet on his truck’s license plate in the government lottery and won, as the plate ended with the winning 55 number. They said will bet on number 3735 which was the snake catchers’ truck license plate number this time.

As before, the latest captured king cobra was taken to Queen Saovabha Memorial Institute, a snake-research facility in Bangkok.
