Bangkok Hospital Pattaya and Queen Savang Vadhana Memorial Hospital staged the first Thai Red Cross blood drive of 2023.

The blood-donation campaign, now in its 15th year, was held March 3 at Bangkok Hospital Pattaya where doctors, nurses, staff, patients and the public all rolled up their sleeves to give.

The annual blood drive ensures that hospitals will have enough blood supplies in stock in case of emergencies which are inevitable during the Songkran (Thai New Year) holiday week when hundreds of road accidents will happen, hundreds of people will lose their lives and thousands more will get injured and in desperate need of blood transfusions.
