BANGKOK, 2 Dec 2014,  The Commerce Ministry is holding a business matchmaking between Thailand’s 100 local and 40 foreign traders, in its bid to help the kingdom spur next year’s export growth to 4%.

Forty Representatives from retail chain stores, super department stores, importers from 15 nations from North America, Europe, Latin America, and Africa yesterday met with more than 100 local Thai traders in the business matchmaking event.

According to Commerce Minister General Chatchai Sarikanya, the visit of the traders from the 15 nations is a good indication, which benefit the kingdom’s export sector. Although the world is still suffering from the economic slump, trading with the nations with prominent economic strength will reduce risks. He also predicted that the meeting results would help pushing next year’s export growth to 4%.

Attending the meeting, to be held until tomorrow, are exporters of food & drinks, rice products, home appliances, and gems & jewelry. Organizers have also arranged for the attendees to observe the production process in some of Thailand’s international standard factories.
