This month saw a special occasion for all pupils at St. Andrews International School as students from both Primary and the Secondary years performed at the Carols by Candlelight event, hosted by the Music Department on Monday, December 8.

Parents had the opportunity to hear some talented students perform a variety of musical genres; one of the highlights being the whole school orchestra performing “Spring” from the Four Seasons by Antonio Vivaldi.  This was followed by a variety of songs sung beautifully by all the pupils in the Primary School followed by the popular “Sing” by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Gary Barlow, sung by students in the Secondary School who wowed the audience even further with their next piece, “Ave Verum” by Amadeus Mozart.

The parents were impressed by the heartfelt performance of César Franck’s “Panis Angelicus” sung by Boris van Bochoven, Fun Williamson’s magnificent recital of “Nella Fantasia” by Ennio Morricone, and the wonderful performance of Wim Vermeer, who played “An die Musik” by Schubert on saxophone.

To end the evening, the parents then had the opportunity to sing various carols with the Secondary Choir.
