Pattaya, Thailand – A group of reckless Kuwaiti bikers caused a pile-up of motorbikes on Pattaya Third Road on Aug 3, seriously injuring three of them. One biker was knocked unconscious and bleeding from his nose. The second biker sustained minor injuries, while the third victim suffered a dislocated arm.
They were surrounded by a group of about 100 foreign tourists, predominantly from Kuwait, who obstinately refused to divulge any information as to the cause of the accident. They also threatened reporters, rudely telling them to delete the photos and videos of the incident.
Witnesses at the scene reported seeing a group of 5 to 10 middle-eastern tourists recklessly racing their motorcycles at high speed before the collision occurred.
The rescue team administered first aid before transferring all three to Bangkok Hospital Pattaya for further treatment. Authorities will continue their investigations into the cause of the accident and plan to conduct interviews with the injured tourists to gain more information and clarity on the incident.
An increase in disruptive tourists from the Middle Eastern Region has sparked frustration and concern among residents and business owners in South Pattaya. Kuwaitis with rented modified motorcycles have been engaging in reckless driving, causing noise disturbances and potentially hazardous situations on the roads.
