A man died after falling from Mount Tabag in Plutaluang while foraging for food.
Saichon Theerakaw, 51, suffered a broken neck in the Dec. 23 fall near the Mount Tabag shrine. He’d been dead about 12 hours when his body was found.
Manit Theerakaw, 53, said his brother frequently roamed through the hills near the shrine and had gone out that morning to collect food for the day. When he didn’t return, Manit said he went out to find his brother.
Locals are scared of the woods near the temple, claiming it was haunted by ghosts of people allegedly executed there in olden times.
