The Embassy of Israel in Thailand, in partnership with the Israel Export Institute, recently hosted the Food Tech Showcase in Bangkok under the theme “Savor the Future of Food.”
Israel’s Ambassador to Thailand, Orna Sagiv, highlighted the event as a significant milestone in bilateral relations, marking it as Israel’s largest FoodTech Roadshow outside its borders. The showcase was attended by CEOs from leading Thai food corporations, government representatives and the Governor of Bangkok, Chadchart Sittipunt.
Tomer Shpilman, Head of the Israel Economic and Trade Mission to Thailand, emphasized that the collaboration leverages Israel’s innovation capabilities and Thailand’s leadership in the food industry. Together, he said these strengths have the potential to redefine and revolutionize the global food market.
The event featured innovative food-testing booths, showcasing technologies in areas like cultivated meat, plant-based products, sugar reduction, alternative proteins, and dairy and honey substitutes.
Additionally, the showcase offered business-matching sessions with Israeli start-ups. It not only presented Israeli food technology to Thailand, but also provided a platform for Thai companies to share insights and explore future collaborations. This aligns with the government’s policy to stimulate economic growth in the food industry and promote Thai gastronomy globally. (NNT)
