The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) is cooperating with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and World Athletics to organize the “Marathon of the Capital” under the name “Running through the City, Amazing Thailand Marathon Bangkok.”
It has the goal of focusing on developing the sports tourism economy in Bangkok and throughout Thailand. It is widely known that many of the leading cities in the world have a marathon.
This year it is scheduled to be held on 3 December 2023. It is expected that there will be no less than 30,000 competitors, 5,000 of whom will be foreigners. The “release point,” or starting line, will be at Rajamangala Stadium, and the finish line at Democracy Monument, Ratchadamnoen Road. The city square will be the meeting place, or Finish Area, after the runners have crossed the finish line.
