BANGKOK, 26 June 2011 – The Imperial College in London and Harvard University has conducted a research on the number of adults who have been suffering with diabetes.The number has been found doubling.
The study has shown people who are currently with diabetes have doubled since 1980. Out of 2.7 million people from all around the world, the number of patient have increased from 153 million to 347 million.
Most patients are found in Pacific islands especially in Marshall Islands. Out of three women who live in the Marshall Islands, one of them shows the symptoms. Although scientists are working on ways to treat the disease, researchers still believe that diabetes will remain a major threat to the world.
