Ninety Chonburi village leaders and volunteers trained to detect and report human traffickers, drug runners and other criminals and threats to national security at a workshop in Chonburi.
Chonburi Deputy Governor Phawat Lertmukda opened the Dec. 30 training session at Muang District Hall, Chonburi.
The Ministry of Interior granted Chonburi a budget to carry out and take responsibility of a civilian-intelligence network to train members on sending authorities information relating to internal security, such as drugs, human trafficking, and illegal aliens, and to develop and expand the network.
Chonburi Deputy Governor Phawat Lertmukda begins the training by performing a religious ceremony.
Participating were 90 village and sub-district headsmen, medical practitioners, and civil-defense volunteers.
Phawat said the ministry is pursuing policies to relieve distress, promote well-being and establish orderliness by enforcing laws fairly to protect the lives and property of every citizen and by promoting civilian involvement in providing authorities with concise information effectively.
The deputy governor asked attendees to study hard and apply their knowledge to work effectively in order to address problems or provide timely relief and assistance.
