The administration is poised to expand the reach of emergency medical services with the launch of ‘Sky Doctor’ teams across all healthcare zones in the country. The 100-day initiative aims to provide rapid medical attention in emergency cases, especially in remote and traffic-congested areas.
Dr. Cholnan Srikaew, the Minister of Public Health, has met with the emergency medical committee to discuss the critical aspect of deploying Sky Doctor teams to every healthcare zone.
According to Dr. Cholnan, quick access to specialized treatment is vital to emergency patients, who often suffer due to remote locations, island settings, or urban traffic congestion. Utilizing helicopters, the Sky Doctor system aims to significantly increase survival rates.
Currently, Sky Doctor services are operational in some parts of the northern and southern regions. The new policy mandates that healthcare zones establish these teams in all 13 healthcare zones within 100 days. The timely implementation is meant to cater to the upcoming New Year’s festival, potentially saving the lives of motorists experiencing medical emergencies across the country. (NNT)
