Nearly 60 people helped restock Thai Red Cross blood banks with a post-New Year’s blood drive in North Pattaya.

The Jan. 5 event at Central Center collected 25,650cc of blood from 57 people for Red Cross Region 3 in Chonburi.

The Red Cross said not enough blood is donated on a daily basis to meet Thailand’s needs, hence concentrated drives are needed periodically.

Following the New Year holiday, a period in which thousands of people are injured on Thai highways, the need for blood becomes more pronounced.
