Pattaya-area Roman Catholics brought the Christmas season to its official close with a party for the families of councilors at St. Nikolas Church and Assumption Church.
Rev. Francis Xavier Kritsada Sukkaphat organized the Jan. 6 event at St. Nikolas, opening the day with a prayer and short speech.
A buffet was set for all and everyone was invited to join in on karaoke. All the priests took part in the activities, which drew praise from parishioners.

Everyone brought gifts and numbered them for a drawing. There was also a second drawing and those whose names were picked received additional prizes.
Couples who have been together longer than 20 years received a pack of two new long pillows, inciting laughter and humorous remarks from the crowd.
Other activities included bingo and other games that offered even more prizes.
