Travel agents unite to prioritise Hong Kong travellers’ demands at the 47th Hong Kong Association of Travel Agents (HATA) Annual Overseas Convention

Hong Kong Association of Travel Agents (HATA) held its highly anticipated 47th Annual Overseas Convention in Bangkok, from 10-12 November, to address the evolving needs and demands of Hong Kong travellers.

Attended by 120 travel agents and tourism industry professionals from Hong Kong, the event served as a platform for industry experts to discuss and measure the expectations of Hong Kong travellers, thus ensuring their satisfaction remained at the forefront of the travel industry’s agenda.

Delegates were a diverse group of travel agents, ranging from large corporations to independent agencies, united by a resolute mission to amplify the travel experience for Hong Kong travellers. They have recognised the crucial importance of listening and responding to the ever-changing preferences of this segment.

The primary objectives of the summit were to prioritise the demands and expectations of Hong Kong travellers. Through collaborative brainstorming sessions and interactive panel discussions, attendees identified several core areas that needed closer attention.

Mr. Chattan Kunjara Na Ayudhya, Deputy Governor for International Marketing – Asia and the South Pacific, Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), one of the keynote speakers said “By actively engaging in discussions and merging our industry expertise, we aim to address the unique demands of Hong Kong travellers and set new benchmarks in customer satisfaction. We hope to welcome more Hong Kong travellers who will return home with happiness and meaningful memories.”

The HATA then had the pleasure of a welcome dinner on a cruise along the Chao Phraya River hosted by TAT. The group also had a site inspection in Bangkok with a Khlong Tour and visiting Wat Arun and Siam Amazing Park.

The convention and post-journey were concluded with resounding success and a renewed sense of purpose and commitment among the travel agents. They will collaborate closely with the TAT Hong Kong Office to implement measures that will prioritise Hong Kong travellers’ demands. (TAT)
