Following the confirmation of the continued partnership between BLACKPINK and YG Entertainment, the agency’s stock prices experienced a significant surge. On Wednesday afternoon, the stock price soared to 60,400 won ($46), marking a remarkable increase of over 25 percent from the previous day.

While the group’s collective future with YG Entertainment is secured, questions linger about the individual contract extensions for each BLACKPINK member. This situation draws parallels to the Grammy-nominated boy band BTS, all of whose seven members renewed their contracts earlier this year with their agency, HYBE, formerly known as Big Hit Entertainment.

Amidst the uncertainty, speculation is rife regarding the individual plans of BLACKPINK members. There are rumors suggesting that Lisa, the Thai member, may have declined an individual contract renewal offer twice. Additionally, reports indicate that Jennie and Jisoo are contemplating the possibility of establishing their own management companies. As fans eagerly await further announcements, the future trajectories of each BLACKPINK member remain a subject of keen interest and speculation in the ever-evolving landscape of the K-pop industry.
