Police, Banglamung District and military officials raided Planet Earth Beach Club in Jomtien Beach after complaints foreigners and Thai women were abusing drugs and disturbing neighbors with loud music.
During the raid on Jan. 31, authorities found a large number of foreign men and about 50 women partying in the private residence-turned-nightclub, with some swimming in the back. Drugs tests revealed no illicit-drug use, but a bag of crystal methamphetamine was found in a sofa. No one claimed ownership.

Police closed down the venue located in a residential neighborhood on Jomtien Soi 15, claiming it was operating and selling alcohol without proper licenses. Illegal sheesha and untaxed cigarettes and liquor also were found. Manager Phana Thongdonphaibun, 38, was arrested.
