The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has issued an urgent call for public cooperation in monitoring and reporting illegal fireworks during New Year celebrations to prevent accidents and ensure public safety.
The BMA’s recent Facebook post revealed that their platform “Traffy Fondue” has already received 543 complaints about fireworks, with the majority being addressed or forwarded to the relevant agencies. The complaints mainly focus on noise pollution, with the highest number of reports coming from Khlong San, Bang Rak, Sathorn, Watthana, and Bangkok Noi districts.
The city has provided multiple access points for the public, including a website link (https://lin.ee/nwxfnHw), LINE @traffyfondue, and a QR code, making it easier for residents to report any violations of city regulations regarding firecrackers and fireworks.
While the BMA is enforcing a ban on fireworks and firecrackers at entertainment venues, Bangkok residents are still able to enjoy organized pyrotechnic displays at various locations across the city. These include CentralWorld, Siam Paragon, EmQuartier, EmDistrict, Iconsiam, Terminal 21 Asok, Siam Center, and Siam Discovery, with a controlled and safe environment being prioritized for festive celebrations.
