Second Chiang Mai airport to serve growing demand of visitors in Northern provinces

The new airport will be built on an area covering 6.7 square kilometers in Ban Thi district, adjacent to the province of Lamphun.

Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin paid a field visit to Chiang Mai on 11 and 12 January 2024.

During his visit, he chaired a meeting to learn about updates on the progress of various transport projects, including the construction of Lanna Airport, the second Chiang Mai airport.

The new airport will be built on an area covering 6.7 square kilometers in Ban Thi district, adjacent to the province of Lamphun. When completed, the airport will be able to accommodate over 21 million passengers per year, in accordance with the Government’s policy on its tourism promotion scheme. (NNT)
