The House of Representatives has recently deliberated on the draft amendment to the 2015 Fisheries Act.
After deliberation between the whips of both sides, a proposal was made to reduce the review period by the Cabinet from 60 days to 15 days. This was due to international legal concerns that necessitated Cabinet consideration first.
Eventually, the House agreed to the motion and let the Cabinet review the draft law and return it to the House on February 22nd, following the suggestion of some members who did not want an immediate vote on the matter. (NNT)
