Some of the population has begun to return to Bangkok gradually. Avoiding Asian Highway, some are opting for Route 340.
After traveling and returning home to celebrate the Songkran festival with family, some people have begun to journey back to Bangkok on the morning of April 15. As a result, traffic on Highway 32, also known as Asian Highway, through Chai Nat province, especially on the inbound side to Bangkok, has increased to about 2,000 vehicles per hour, but it’s still flowing smoothly. It’s expected that traffic will continue to increase throughout the day.
Therefore, it’s recommended for travelers to use Route 340 as an alternative route to Bangkok to avoid congestion. To do so, take a right turn from Asian Highway at Phayuha Khiri District, Nakhon Sawan Province, at the intersection of Luang Pho O-Kilometer 150, onto Phahonyothin Road in Manorom District, Chai Nat Province. Continue straight to the intersection at Kanchanarat District, Chai Nat Province, and then proceed straight onto Route 340 towards Suphanburi, Nonthaburi, and into Bangkok. (TNA)
