Having made it through the week of the PSC Charity Classic, many playing in the event and several regulars working in support of the PSC Golf Committee, we met at BJ’s Holiday Lodge a bit blurry eyed on Friday.  After all, the festivities the night before at the Charity Classic presentation dinner lasted late into the evening.  To top that off, we had an early (9 a.m.) tee time so we hastily had breakfast and were on the road to Mountain Shadow by 07:45.

Arriving at the course in good time with no traffic tie-ups on “The 7”, we were soon on the first tee and the lead group were off down the fairway a few minutes early.  The course was in very good condition with the greens running a bit slower than usual for Mt. Shadow.  Under the hot and humid conditions the pace of play was a bit slower than normal but still the groups were finished in around 4½ hours.

After quick showers there was no stopping in the restaurant this day as all wanted to get back to BJ’s before the music festival traffic restrictions were enforced.  Happy to report that after playing from the longer blue tees, approximately 6400yds, there were some fine scores turned in by the podium finishers, with Andre Van Dyk leading the way on 39 points.  Well done by all.
