Bangkok’s bustling transit network has gained a new attraction with the opening of a new Metro Mall location at the MRT Queen Sirikit National Convention Center station. The latest development, announced by Witsuwat Amkaphet, managing director of Bangkok Metro Networks Ltd (BMN), is set to link key urban landmarks such as hospitals and substantial residential complexes, offering quick and accessible dining options for commuters on the move.

Standing out from other metro shopping areas, BMN is incorporating a slice of Bangkok’s renowned street food scene into the Queen Sirikit Station Mall. The new shopping/dining area seeks to provide a distinct dining experience that many say resonates with the local culture and gastronomy, making their journey more convenient and enjoyable.

According to Witsuwat, each BMN metro mall is built to reflect the unique characteristics of its location, adding a cultural layer to its functional appeal. The Phahon Yothin station, for instance, focuses on the arts, creating a vibrant space for local artists to showcase their talents. Meanwhile, the Lat Phrao station is tailored towards service-oriented offerings, with facilities such as clinics and beauty salons that cater to the practical needs of the community.

With the implementation of these distinct themes, BMN expressed confidence that its new facility will improve the daily commute for MRT users throughout Bangkok’s metro system. This enhancement is particularly beneficial for those traveling during peak hours, wanting to shop for groceries or grab a quick meal. (NNT)
