The Office of the Basic Education Commission and Garena, the digital entertainment arm of parent company Sea Limited, are adamant about driving forward the ‘eSport Classroom’ Project, to develop children’s essential skills and preparing them for a future career path in the digital era.
The project, which engages over 400 personnel from schools in Bangkok and across Thailand, leverages gaming and extracurricular activities to enhance the Thai education sector while raising public awareness of esports.
Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt said these extracurricular programs provide excellent opportunities for students to learn new things and gain a better understanding of their abilities.
He noted that the E-Sport Class will teach students planning skills, instant problem-solving, and public communication through the games they play. It also aims to expand young people’s perspectives on career opportunities, especially in the esports industry.
The E-Sport Class enables students to engage in tasks related to the esports industry, such as esports narration, game streaming, and content creation. These activities can help them pursue careers as content creators, public relations specialists, narrators, graphic designers, and program developers within the esports field.
Additionally, the program will offer scholarships to participating students, enabling them to continue their studies and train for esports-related fields at the university level. (NNT)
