PM and spouse chair chanting and alms-giving ceremony on auspicious occasion of Her Majesty the Queen’s birthday anniversary

Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin and spouse, Mrs. Pakpilai Thavisin, presided over the chanting and alms-giving ceremony on auspicious occasion of Her Majesty the Queen’s birthday anniversary on June 3, 2024.

At Sanam Luang Royal Plaza, Bangkok, Government Spokesperson Chai Wacharonke disclosed that Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin and spouse, Mrs. Pakpilai Thavisin, presided over the chanting and alms-giving ceremony on auspicious occasion of Her Majesty the Queen’s birthday anniversary on June 3, 2024. Attending the ceremony were Privy Councilors and spouses, Vice President of the Senate (Representative of the President of the National Assembly and the President of the Senate), President of the Supreme Court and spouse, Presidents of constitutional organizations and spouses, cabinet members and spouses, officials of royal offices and agencies, Secretary General to the Prime Minister, Army commanders and spouses, acting Commissioner of the Royal Thai Police and spouse, heads of a government agencies (permanent secretaries or equivalent), and Permanent Secretary to the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration.



Upon arrival, the Prime Minister and spouse lit candle and incense sticks to pay homage to the Triple Gems, and laid the golden offerings in front of Her Majesty’s portrait. Following the chanting by 10 senior monks, the Prime Minister and participants presented the monks with the triple robes and offerings. He, then, paid homage to the Triple Gems, and Her Majesty’s portrait, and led the participants to give alms to 147 monks to end the ceremony.
Later, the Prime Minister and spouse signed a book of blessing for Her Majesty the Queen at the Red Room, the Grand Palace.
