Sunday, April 12, Green Valley – Monthly Medal

1st Bob Stokes (16) net 64

2nd Eddy Beilby (19) net 73

3rd Christian Boysen (14) net 73

Bob Stokes was preparing to leave town on a high note, ending his holiday and heading back to his native Scotland, and he gave the gang something to remember him by with a sizzling gross 80 (net 64) at Green Valley.  Bob picked up the biggest prize of the month, the monthly medal, and also took possession of a lead crystal engraved whiskey goblet, a bottle of Jameson’s Irish whiskey and an invite to the yearend Gold Medal.  His name will also be etched on the Lewiinski’s wall of shame.

Bob was nine strokes clear of Eddy ‘the Eagle’ Beilby and Christian Boysen, with the scales of justice tipping in Eddy’s favour.

Bob Stokes, with a brace, and Claude Harder shared the ‘2’s pot.  After the presentation everyone wished Bob and Ann a safe journey home and a speedy return.

Tuesday, April 14, Burapha C & D – Stableford

1st Chris Crayforth (8) 38pts

2nd Brett Soipe (9) 32pts

3rd Ian Pickles (15) 32pts

Songkran week was upon us and several of the venues decided to cancel their fixtures rather than fight the water and the exodus of farangs.  Lewiinski’s has always been a halfway house for wayward souls, especially to those that stay behind at Songkran.

Two non-members, Chris Crayforth and Brett Soipe, joined us for the day’s golf at Burapha, and when they left they did so with a few lucky Lewiinski’s baht in their pockets; Chris winning the day with a splendid 38 points as Brett lifted the silver a stroke adrift.

Long time members Ian Pickles and Irishman Peter ‘the silver surfer’ Henshaw were tied on 32 points, but alas there was no luck for Peter and no podium spot for either.

Wednesday, April 15, Eastern Star – Stableford

1st Pierre Zbinden (19) 37pts

2nd Jim Elphick (24) 34pts

As most of the Lewiinski’s golfers were away “celebrating” Songkran, a depleted group braved the trip to the Robert Trent Jones Jnr. designed Eastern Star.

The course was in fair condition, which suited Pierre Zbinden down to the ground as he was top man with a steady 37 points and was also the only player to better his handicap.  Jimmy ‘two shots’ Elphick lifted the silver as he edged Lou Zigzag off the podium steps in a count back, both tied on 32 points.

Note: Lewiinski’s is situated on Pattaya land Soi 1, Beach Rd Soi13/13 near Walking Street.  Anyone wishing to play with us just pop in and add your name to the list or call Peter on 086 139 6301.  Transport is provided.
