BANGKOK, 1 May 2015- A recent survey by the Kasikorn Research Center (KResearch) has revealed that tuition and cram school fees during the upcoming school term are likely to circulate 25 billion baht in Bangkok, an increase of 4.6 percent from the same period last year.

KResearch said that these tuition fees accounted for 70 percent of all school-related expenses.

The survey revealed that parents in the capital spend 30 percent of their income on food and transportation and 17 percent on their children’s tuition fee, while saving 15 percent. Parents also allocated 10 percent each to entertainment, debt, and utilities, with the remaining 9 percent on medical expenses.

The poll also showed that 12 percent of Bangkok parents relied on pawnshops and 11 percent on various financial institutes.

KResearch claimed that the political stability had a positive effect on parents, leading to the increase in education-related spending.
