Eighty police officers brushed up on anti-narcotics education and teaching skills at a Drug Abuse Resistance Education seminar in Pattaya.
Pol. Maj. Gen. Kamrob Punyakaew, chief of the Region 2 Drug Suppression Division, and Pol. Col. Nattapol Sukrasorn, deputy police chief in Nonthaburi, conducted the April 25 workshop at the Sea Breeze Hotel in Jomtien Beach.
Punyakaew said eliminating drugs is the government’s top priority. “We must also look into all the related problems and eliminate them completely,” he told the officers.

The D.A.R.E. program’s 2015 strategic plan aims to prevent and protect the most vulnerable citizens from getting involved in drugs. “We must build an immune system to protect our children of all ages in and outside our schools from becoming the latest victim,” he said.
D.A.R.E. involves police departments in regions 1-9, including the border patrol. Their duties are to guide and teach children at risk of using illicit drugs in primary and secondary schools.
Kamrob said the D.A.R.E. project has proven to be quite effective in safeguarding children drugs.
