The Ministry of Digital Economy and Society and Huawei co-hosted the Asia-Pacific ICT Summit 2024. The event emphasizes the acceleration of Thailand’s digital transformation into the 5.5G era.

The summit showcased the technology exhibition and fostered collaboration and innovation. It also highlighted Thailand and the Asia-Pacific region’s potential to launch 5.5G development plans in 2024.



This initiative aligns with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society’s “Cloud First” policy which aims to enhance the use of digital technologies in public services and drive Thailand’s digital future, positioning Thailand as a frontline technological hub in Southeast Asia.

Minister of Digital Economy and Society, Prasert Chantararuangthong, said that the ministry has partnered with Huawei Cloud, to create a secure and reliable digital ecosystem. Huawei Cloud’s investment in local infrastructure will be key to supporting the Cloud First vision and ensuring all Thai citizens, businesses, and institutions benefit from cloud technology.




The collaboration led to the launch of the e-government cloud, enhancing digital collaboration and public service quality while supporting Thailand’s Smart City project in the Eastern Economic Corridor.

Additionally, Huawei Cloud offers over 100 cloud services across more than 15 industries in Thailand, ranking No. 1 in the hybrid cloud market share. Over 70% of Thai ministries and 25 financial institutions have partnered with Huawei for their digital transformation. (NNT)
