The Thai Chamber of Commerce (TCC) has called on the new government to prioritize economic growth by focusing on stabilizing the baht, enhancing tourism, and expanding export markets. These measures are considered crucial for maintaining export competitiveness and sustaining tourism momentum, with a target of 36-37 million tourists this year.

In addition to these short-term goals, the TCC advocates for the continuation of investment and soft power initiatives introduced by the previous administration under former Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin. This includes accelerating the disbursement of the 2024 budget to promote economic recovery and addressing public livelihood concerns, particularly in light of challenges posed by imported goods, especially from China.

The private sector also stresses the need for political stability and cohesive government action to create a favorable environment for foreign investment. The TCC stresses the importance of maintaining the progress of trade and investment initiatives, alongside efforts to attract digital technology industries, despite challenges such as high electricity costs and a shortage of skilled personnel.
