Increased rainfall across Thailand, with heavy to very heavy rain expected in certain areas, particularly in the upper northern region, the upper northeastern region, and the western coast of southern Thailand.

The Meteorological Department has issued a weather warning for the next 24 hours, indicating increased rainfall across Thailand, with heavy to very heavy rain expected in certain areas, particularly in the upper northern region, the upper northeastern region, and the western coast of southern Thailand.

Residents in these areas are advised to be cautious of potential dangers from heavy rainfall and accumulated rain, which may result in flash floods and landslides, especially in low-lying areas near hillsides and waterways. The weather conditions are due to the monsoon trough moving across the upper northern and northeastern regions, coupled with a stronger southwest monsoon covering the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand. Meanwhile, a low-pressure system is forming over northern Laos.

In terms of marine conditions, stronger winds are expected in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand. In the upper Andaman Sea, waves could reach 2-3 meters in height, with waves exceeding 3 meters in areas experiencing thunderstorms. In the upper Gulf of Thailand, waves are forecast to be around 2 meters high, and in the lower Andaman Sea, waves will be 1-2 meters high, with waves exceeding 2 meters in stormy conditions. Mariners in these areas are urged to exercise caution and avoid sailing in areas with thunderstorms, while smaller vessels in the upper Andaman Sea are advised to remain ashore during this period.

In Bangkok and its surrounding areas, thunderstorms are expected in 70% of the area, with heavy rainfall in some places. The temperature will range from a minimum of 26-27 degrees Celsius to a maximum of 33-36 degrees Celsius.
