The Thai Meteorological Department has issued a warning for heavy to very heavy rain in specific areas of the upper Northern, upper Northeastern, and Western Southern regions of Thailand. Residents in these regions are advised to take precautions against potential dangers from heavy rainfall, which could lead to flash floods and water runoff, particularly in mountainous areas, near waterways, and low-lying regions.

This weather pattern is due to the monsoon trough that has shifted over the upper Northern and upper Northeastern regions, combined with the strong southwest monsoon prevailing over the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand.

The department also warned of strong winds and high waves in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand. In the upper Andaman Sea, waves are expected to reach heights of 2-3 meters, with areas experiencing thunderstorms seeing waves over 3 meters. In the upper Gulf of Thailand, waves are expected to reach around 2 meters, while the lower Andaman Sea will see waves of 1-2 meters, increasing to more than 2 meters in stormy areas. Mariners in these regions are advised to proceed with caution and avoid sailing in stormy areas, while smaller vessels in the upper Andaman Sea are advised to remain ashore during this period.

In Bangkok and its surrounding areas, thunderstorms are expected in 70% of the region, with some areas experiencing heavy rain. The minimum temperature is expected to be 25-27°C, while the maximum temperature is forecasted to reach 33-35°C.
