BANGKOK, Thailand – Authorities from the Economic Crime Suppression Division (ECD), in collaboration with the Department of Health Service Support, conducted a major operation in Rayong and Phuket, targeting illegal aesthetic clinics involved in unauthorized beauty treatments on August 28. The crackdown led to the arrest of five illegal practitioners and the seizure of over 200 items, including unregistered drugs and medical equipment.

Pol. Lt. Gen. Wittaya Sriprasert, Commander of the ECD, announced the results of the operation, which took place at four locations: three in Rayong and one in Phuket. Among those arrested were one clinic owner and five unlicensed practitioners. These individuals were found to be using a product called InfiNAdi Nad+, registered as a cosmetic, for unauthorized injections into clients’ bodies. The product, though once approved, has been revoked but was still being used in various beauty clinics.

During the raids, authorities seized various items including, registered and unregistered drugs, medical equipment, mislabeled cosmetics, and other medical supplies. The total value of the seized items is estimated at over 280,000 baht.

Pol. Lt. Gen. Wittaya explained that this operation is part of an ongoing effort to address illegal activities involving InfiNAdi Nad+ and other similar products. Despite the revocation of its registration, some clinics continued to use it for injections.

The authorities are now taking legal action against those involved under the Hospitals Act, the Medical Professional Act, and the Drug Act. Furthermore, the ECD plans to investigate over 200 beauty clinics nationwide to determine if similar illegal activities are occurring.

This crackdown highlights the continued efforts by Thai authorities to ensure public safety and compliance with health regulations, especially in the aesthetic industry.
