Thai Cabinet approves MoU with Cambodia to combat cross-border call center scams

BANGKOK, Thailand – The Thai Cabinet has approved a draft Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Thailand’s Ministry of Digital Economy and Society and Cambodia’s Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications to enhance cooperation in digital technology. The announcement was made by Sukhasit Srichomkwan, Deputy Secretary-General to the Prime Minister for Political Affairs, following the Cabinet meeting on September 3.



The MoU focuses on promoting collaboration in various technological areas, including digital platforms, digital goods and services, digital transformation, and the development of digital workforce skills. A key aspect of this agreement is the joint effort to enhance online safety and combat online fraud, particularly in addressing call center scams and hybrid scams. This new agreement expands the scope of cooperation to enable both countries to more effectively tackle these issues. (TNA)
