Immigration checks migrant camps in Banglamung

The Chonburi Immigration Office inspected alien-workers camps in Banglamung District to root out human trafficking.

Immigration police and district officials checked the camps in Moo 3 and Moo 6 villages in Pong Sub-district May 14 to check whether they were in the kingdom legally or had become victims of human traffickers.

Of the 402 Cambodian and Burmese migrants checked, 15 were found to have no work permit and were arrested for entering the country illegally. They will soon be deported.

Immigration superintendent Pol. Col. Prapansak Prasarnsuk said the Chonburi office has stepped up efforts to combat trafficking and illegal laborers.
