BANGKOK, Thailand – Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt, along with Napatsorn Phalaraveepong, Bangkok Council Member for Bang Kapi, and other officials, visited Bang Kapi district for the second round of the “Governor on Tour” initiative on September 21. They were accompanied by Chuchart Phumnoi, Director of Bang Kapi District, as they assessed ongoing projects and discussed key local issues.

Governor Chadchart highlighted that Bang Kapi is set to become a new urban center, with a focus on infrastructure developments, including the construction of a Skywalk. This elevated walkway will connect various modes of transportation—buses, boats, and trains—and link the city’s Yellow and Orange MRT lines, enhancing travel efficiency. The Skywalk will also serve as a high-quality public space, featuring music events, parks, and additional amenities like elevators for disabled individuals.

The Governor acknowledged the issue of homeless people living on the Skywalk and tasked city officials with monitoring the situation and providing appropriate assistance. While homelessness remains a significant urban challenge, Chadchart emphasized the need to treat these individuals as part of the city’s fabric, urging residents to report any concerns to the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) for timely support.
