TAK, Thailand – The Umphang Wildlife Sanctuary has announced the temporary closure of the “Thi Lo Su Waterfall Nature Study Area” following severe damage caused by flash floods. The site will remain closed until conditions return to normal, September 22.
According to a statement posted today on the official Facebook page of the Umphang Wildlife Sanctuary, heavy rains in Umphang District, Tak Province, have caused flash floods, particularly at Thi Lo Su Waterfall, where the viewing area has been severely affected. The sanctuary is unable to provide visitor services at this time.
The 25-kilometer route from the ticket booth to the camping area near the waterfall is currently blocked by flash floods, mud, water channels, fallen branches, and trees, making it dangerous for tourists. Sanctuary staffs are working to assess and manage the situation.
