BANGKOK, Thailand – The Thai Meteorological Department has issued Announcement No. 7 (219/2567), warning of unstable weather in upper Thailand from October 1 to October 3. A moderate high-pressure system from China will extend over northeastern and eastern parts of Thailand and the South China Sea, while a monsoon trough will cross through northern, lower northeastern, central, and eastern regions.
During this period, thunderstorms, gusty winds, and heavy rainfall are expected in many areas, including Bangkok and its vicinity. Northern and northeastern regions will experience particularly heavy rainfall. After the storms, temperatures will drop by 1–3°C in the northeastern region, with strong winds accompanying the cooler weather.
Residents in affected areas are advised to take precautions against thunderstorms, strong winds, and the risk of flash floods, especially in foothill areas and near waterways. People should avoid open areas, large trees, and unstable structures, and maintain their health during this period of changing weather conditions.
