Prime Minister praises success at international summit, highlights interest in food, technology, and health tourism cooperation

Prime Minister Paetongtarn was pleased with the enthusiasm from various countries to engage with Thailand, especially in economic and technological collaborations.

DOHA, Qatar – Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra expressed satisfaction with the overall success of Thailand’s participation in the 3rd Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) Summit. Speaking at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Doha, she highlighted that several ACD leaders showed strong interest in collaborating with Thailand on sectors such as food, technology, and health tourism.

During an interview with the Television Pool of Thailand, the Prime Minister shared that many countries praised Thailand for its role as a founding member of the ACD and for fostering cooperation among nations. Several countries expressed interest in investing in Thailand, particularly in technology and education. Many also commended Google’s recent decision to invest over 35 billion baht in cloud technology and educational initiatives in Thailand.

Prime Minister Paetongtarn reiterated Thailand’s commitment to promoting peace and shared prosperity, emphasizing the importance of protecting innocent lives and upholding the United Nations Charter.

She also held discussions with various national leaders. During her conversation with Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian, the focus was on economic and technological cooperation. In her meeting with Qatar’s ruler, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, the discussion centered on food security. Thailand proposed a food ordering system, where the country would store and supply food upon request, which garnered interest from several nations.


President Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan, who had previously vacationed in Phuket, expressed his fondness for Thai seafood and offered to help promote Thai cuisine internationally. The Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, also congratulated Thailand for hosting the ACD Summit next year, and the Prime Minister invited Kuwait to invest in Thailand’s Land Bridge project.

In closing, Prime Minister Paetongtarn reflected on her first international summit, stating that she felt a strong sense of cooperation and goodwill. She was pleased with the enthusiasm from various countries to engage with Thailand, especially in economic and technological collaborations. Moving forward, relevant ministries will continue to follow up on these opportunities, with a focus on bringing more income and development to Thailand. (PRD)
