BANGKOK, Thailand – Thai Airways is enhancing its in-flight dining experience with premium menus and world-class service across all cabin classes. Passengers on European routes are currently enjoying an 80% load factor, prompting the airline to upgrade its service offerings. First Class passengers will be treated to exclusive dishes such as Italian caviar and fine wines, while Economy Class passengers will experience “Streets to Sky,” a project bringing famous Thai street food to the skies as part of Thailand’s Soft Power mission. Starting in October, the menu will include “Khao Soi Chicken” from Lamduan Fah Ham in Chiang Mai and “Butter Toast with Thai Milk Tea” from After You.

Thai Airways CEO Chai Eamsiri announced that the airline’s Milan flights, which launched in July 2024, have been met with great success. The Boeing 787 flights operate daily with an average cabin factor of 85%. This route, along with others in Europe, continues to provide seamless travel connections between Thailand and major European cities, with support from the Star Alliance network.

To elevate the passenger experience, Thai Airways is offering a premium caviar service in First Class. This luxury item is sourced from Javeri Caviar, a world-renowned producer in Italy. The caviar, made from sturgeon raised in spring water, is served in 20-gram tins. Additionally, passengers can enjoy Amarone wine, a premium Italian red wine.

Further improvements are planned for Thai Airways’ fleet. The airline is upgrading 14 Boeing 777-300ERs to include three cabin classes—Economy, Premium Economy, and Business—and 30 Boeing 787s to feature two classes: Economy and Business. New wider seats, enhanced legroom, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth connectivity will be added to enhance comfort. The installation of new seats will begin with the A320 aircraft later in 2024.

Starting in October, the menu will include “Khao Soi Chicken” from Lamduan Fah Ham in Chiang Mai and “Butter Toast with Thai Milk Tea” from After You.

“Streets to Sky” Project Brings Thai Street Food Onboard
As part of the “Streets to Sky” initiative, Thai Airways has been serving popular Thai street food dishes on all international flights departing from Bangkok since August 2024. This initiative aims to promote traditional Thai cuisine globally and position Thai food as a form of Soft Power. The airline collaborates with Dusit Thani College to curate a rotating selection of street food dishes every two months. October’s featured dishes include “Khao Soi Chicken” from the famous Lamduan Fah Ham restaurant in Chiang Mai, which has been serving the dish since World War II.

For desserts, Thai Airways is partnering with the well-known Thai dessert chain After You to serve popular treats like “Butter Toast with Thai Milk Tea” on outbound flights to China, Japan, and CLMV countries (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam). Upcoming dessert offerings include “Pandan Bread with Coconut Cream” in November and “Taro Custard Bread” in December.

To elevate the passenger experience, Thai Airways is offering a premium caviar service in First Class.

To ensure quality and consistency on return flights from international destinations, Thai Airways is training catering teams abroad on Thai cooking techniques and providing essential seasonings and ingredients.

The airline is also distributing eco-friendly tote bags from Thai brand Naraya on medium- and long-haul international Economy Class flights to destinations like Istanbul, Stockholm, Paris, and Oslo. Business Class passengers will receive redesigned amenities kits from Jim Thompson, while First Class travelers can enjoy products from luxury brand La Mer.

These enhancements, combined with a focus on presenting Thailand’s cultural identity through food and products, ensure that Thai Airways offers a unique and memorable experience for passengers across all cabin classes.
