BANGKOK, Thailand – The Thai Meteorological Department has reported that the upper parts of Northern and Northeastern Thailand will experience cool morning temperatures, while lower Northeastern, Central, and Eastern regions will see an increase in rainfall. Meanwhile, Bangkok and its surrounding areas can expect thunderstorms across 40% of the region.
According to the department’s 24-hour weather forecast, the high-pressure system or cool air mass currently covering upper Thailand and the South China Sea is weakening. As a result, easterly winds are affecting the lower Northeastern, Central, Eastern regions, and the Gulf of Thailand, leading to increased rainfall in these areas. Despite this, the upper parts of Northern and Northeastern Thailand will continue to have cooler morning temperatures. Residents are advised to take care of their health during these fluctuating weather conditions.
In addition, the monsoon trough passing through the central part of Southern Thailand will bring heavy rain to some areas. Residents of Southern Thailand are urged to be cautious of potential flash floods and run-off, especially in low-lying areas or near mountain slopes and waterways.
As for marine conditions, the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand will experience waves below 1 meter, though areas with thunderstorms may see waves reach 1-2 meters. Mariners should avoid sailing in areas with thunderstorms.
Bangkok and its surrounding areas are expected to have scattered thunderstorms covering 40% of the area, with temperatures ranging between 25-26°C in the morning and highs of 33-35°C in the afternoon.
