VIENTIANE – Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra, attending the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summits and Related Meetings in Laos, was spotted wearing traditional Thai silk attire.
Notably, the blouse she wore was a product of the Mae Fah Luang Foundation project and originally belonged to her mother, Khun Ying Potjaman Damapong.
The blouse dates back over 20 years, to when Khun Ying Potjaman was the spouse of former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra. Meanwhile, the trousers were custom-made specifically for this occasion.
The Mae Fah Luang Foundation is renowned for supporting Thai artisans and promoting traditional Thai textiles. Prime Minister Paetongtarn’s choice of attire reflects her intention to highlight Thai culture, showcasing its timeless beauty on the international stage. (NNT)
