A statement released by the Thai Embassy in Seoul encourages visitors to the country to take precautions against the MERS-CoV outbreak, particularly in the city of Daejeon and surrounding areas. It recommends steering clear of crowded public areas as a way to reduce the risk of infection, along with sanitary practices such as washing hands frequently and wearing face masks.

Should any Thai national experience fever or suspicious symptoms while in South Korea, he or she is urged to seek medical attention immediately and also contact the Thai Embassy for assistance. The Embassy affirmed it will keep the people constantly updated with the situation.
