BANGKOK, Thailand – Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn will preside over the opening ceremony of the 5th Princess Maha Chakri Award International Forum and the 3rd International Conference on Educational Equality on Oct 16 at the IMPACT Forum in Nonthaburi province. The event brings together educators, government officials, and organizations from 11 ASEAN countries and Timor-Leste, and celebrates teachers who have made significant contributions to education in their home countries. Bangladesh, Bhutan, and Mongolia will also join the award ceremony, set for October 17.
Organized by the Princess Maha Chakri Award Foundation, in collaboration with the Teachers Council of Thailand, the Ministry of Education, and other relevant agencies, the forum will feature presentations from award-winning teachers sharing innovative teaching techniques. Each presentation demonstrates how educators use creative approaches to integrate learning with practical life skills. The event will be broadcast live on platforms including the National Broadcasting Services of Thailand’s NBT2 HD channel, NBT World, and the foundation’s YouTube and Facebook pages.
The award-winning teachers presenting at the forum include:
– Brunei Darussalam: Mohamad Amir Irwan Haji Moksin, building reading foundations through traditional and digital methods.
– Cambodia: Chakriya Hay, integrating STEM with real-life applications.
– Indonesia: Harisdayani, creating interactive learning with technology.
– Laos: Kimfueang Heuangmany, introducing science through fermenting microorganisms.
– Malaysia: Saifulnizan Che Ismail, using hands-on math learning activities.
– Myanmar: Daw Aye Su Win, developing English skills for high school teachers.
– Philippines: Jerwin Valencia, stressing emotional learning through the M.A.T.H. (Make A Tremendous Help) project.
– Singapore: Chew Luan Penny Chong, teaching visually impaired students with hands-on methods.
– Timor-Leste: Filomena da Costa, fostering creativity through simple methods.
– Vietnam: Manh Hung Nguyen, teaching survival skills such as first aid.
– Thailand: Niwat Ngoen-ngam meesuk, working with remote mountain communities, using community-based learning models centered around sustainable agriculture.
The forum will also feature interactive discussions to drive educational transformation across the region, with live broadcasts starting at 9:00 a.m. Educators and the public are invited to join through the foundation’s online platforms to learn from these inspiring educators. (NNT)
