BANGKOK, Thailand – The Meteorological Department reported that heavy rain is expected in some areas of eastern and southern Thailand, while the upper northeastern region will experience cool weather in the morning.
According to the 24-hour weather forecast, easterly and southeasterly winds are bringing moisture from the South China Sea and the Gulf of Thailand over lower northeastern and central Thailand, including Bangkok and its surrounding areas, as well as the eastern region. This will result in heavy rainfall in some parts of the eastern region. Meanwhile, a weakening high-pressure system or cool air mass continues to cover the upper northeastern region, leading to cooler morning temperatures. People in northern Thailand are advised to take care of their health due to changing weather conditions.
A monsoon trough crossing the upper southern region will bring heavy rain to parts of southern Thailand. Residents are urged to be cautious of possible flash floods and runoff, particularly in low-lying areas near slopes and waterways. In the Andaman Sea, waves will reach around 1 meter, while in the Gulf of Thailand, waves will be below 1 meter, rising to over 2 meters during thunderstorms. Mariners are advised to avoid sailing in stormy areas.
Bangkok and Vicinity: Thunderstorms in 60% of the area. Minimum temperature 25-27°C, maximum 33-34°C. Easterly winds 10-20 km/h.
North: Thunderstorms in 30% of the area, mostly in Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Lamphun, and Lampang. Minimum temperature 23-25°C, maximum 32-36°C. Southeasterly winds 10-15 km/h.
Northeast: Cool morning in the upper part, with thunderstorms in 20% of the area, mainly in Loei, Chaiyaphum, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram, Surin, Sisaket, and Ubon Ratchathani. Minimum temperature 22-24°C, maximum 34-36°C. Easterly winds 10-20 km/h.
Central: Thunderstorms in 40% of the area, mostly in Ratchaburi, Nakhon Pathom, Samut Songkhram, Samut Sakhon, Saraburi, and Ayutthaya. Minimum temperature 23-26°C, maximum 34-36°C. Easterly winds 10-20 km/h.
East: Thunderstorms in 60% of the area with heavy rain in some parts, particularly in Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Chonburi (Pattaya), Rayong, Chanthaburi, and Trat. Minimum temperature 23-26°C, maximum 33-34°C. Easterly winds 10-30 km/h. Waves below 1 meter, over 2 meters in thunderstorms.
South (East Coast): Thunderstorms in 60% of the area with heavy rain in some parts, particularly in Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, and Songkhla. Minimum temperature 24-26°C, maximum 32-35°C. Southeasterly winds 10-30 km/h. Waves below 1 meter, over 2 meters in thunderstorms.
South (West Coast): Thunderstorms in 60% of the area with heavy rain in some parts, particularly in Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket, Krabi, and Trang. Minimum temperature 25-26°C, maximum 32-34°C. Southwesterly winds 15-30 km/h. Waves around 1 meter, over 2 meters in thunderstorms.
