BANGKOK, Thailand – The Deputy Governor of Bangkok, Jakkapan Phataraprasit, visited Sukhumvit Soi 101 to oversee the implementation of Governor Chadchart’s policy for organizing trading areas, October 19. This initiative specifically targets the area from Soi Punnawithi 15 to Soi Punnawithi 21 in Phra Khanong district.
During his visit, Jakkapan emphasized the importance of ongoing and serious efforts in regulating trading areas. He urged municipal officials to thoroughly understand the criteria and conditions for trading areas for 2024, ensuring accuracy in all 16 announced regulations.
“The organization of trading areas must be executed consistently. Once the new announcement is released, it should be enforced strictly to ensure compliance with the established requirements. We need to adhere to proper regulations to maintain order in these trading zones,” he stated.
Jakkapan further explained that if vendors meet the criteria and conditions set forth, their trading spaces could be designated as special allowances. However, those who violate these regulations will have their trading areas revoked.
This initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance order and compliance within Bangkok’s bustling commercial zones, ensuring a fair trading environment for all.
