CHIANG MAI, Thailand – The Zoological Park Organization of Thailand (ZPOT) has extended financial aid to schools in Chiang Mai province affected by recent floods. As part of its “Moo Deng” project, the initiative has been launched to support both flood victims and the welfare of animals, addressing the needs of communities and wildlife impacted by the disaster.
During a ceremony at Chiang Mai Zoo, ZPOT Chairman Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jade Donavanik presented 500,000 baht in aid to 10 flood-affected schools. Representatives from the schools, along with students, attended the event. Among the schools receiving aid were Wat Sao Hin School, Kawila Wittayalai School, and Chiang Mai College of Dramatic Arts.
The floods in Chiang Mai caused extensive damage to homes, schools, and property while impacting pets and wildlife in the province and areas nearby.
As a state enterprise focused on wildlife conservation and community support, ZPOT is committed to assisting residents and animals in recovering from the disaster. The organization actively supports flood-affected communities, ensuring the welfare of animals remains a key priority during this challenging time.
